When you think of America, the first thing that should come to your mind is a nation of peace and equality. But in reality its not, is it? We live in a nation of racism, sexism, and homophobia. Homosexuals get the worst of all the unfair treatment. Gays have been fighting for rights since the 1960s, maybe even before then, and yet today in 2012, those pleas for rights are heard, but ignored amp; lashed at. We should allow same-sex marriage because banning it is unfair, love is all that matters in marriage, amp; gay families have certain family values that some straight marriages lack. Banning an issue doesnt make it go away. The fact of the matter is, itll always be there: gay people will always exist amp; so will their need for equal rights.
